We were excited to gather together to celebrate and recognise our athlete’s achievements for the 2023-2024 season at our recent Club Presentation Awards evening.
The evening kicked off with acknowledging the dedication and hard work that each athlete brings to their training and a special mention to all of our incredible coaches that prepare our squads for their training sessions and competition meets.
We were proud to recognise the achievements of all athletes, including our age champions, relay winners and most improved. This year, we were thrilled to present the coveted most improved award to three deserving recipients, Airlie G, Thomas B and Harper D.
The Club also recognised some high achievements from its seasoned athletes including the 10 swimmers that participated in their first Olympic and Paralympic Trials in Brisbane. The trials offered invaluable experience for our athletes as they set their sights on the future, including the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In addition to individual achievements, the Club also recognised the team’s triumph at various regional, state and national meets this year, including the 2024 Swimming Australia Age Championships where they secured 22 medals and finished in sixth place in the combined point score out of 239 scoring clubs across Australia.
Open water swimming continued to be a focus for many athletes this season with 11 competing at the Australian Open Water Championships in Busselton where four athletes reached the podium and two claimed National Titles.
Congratulations to all of our swimmers and coaches on another remarkable season. As a club, we continue to grow from strength to strength and remain committed to unlocking the full potential of our athletes and achieving more accomplishments in the seasons to come.
